My how time flies when you're having fun!

A year ago, if you had told me I would be a blogger, I probably would have laughed in your face. Probably one of those embarrassing snort-laughs.  The girl that was better at math in school and only wrote something if three people checked it first, writing a blog...no way!

So much has happened to Heather and myself in the last year.

"Instead of Doing Dishes" was started as just a way to record the sometimes strange situations we find ourselves in while out and about.  Now, a year later, we are looking at business cards and professional classes.  We have notebooks filled with places we want to travel.  Some are day trips, now that I am a stay-at-home mom, places close enough to be back before "The Boys", i.e. Heather's children, get off the school bus. Many are weekenders.

In the past year we have toured homes that have been standing since before the North and the South had a little dust up. We have end-to-end completed the Natchez Trace, with a carload of children (and the boatmen thought they had it rough!). We have raced to the Mississippi River front for the perfect sunset pictures.  We have made new friends, many who have helped us along the way in our ventures.

Our Facebook page has over 185 followers! (Some of those are not family!) Our Instagram has been picking up a few here and there as well. (Thanks to my former students who have informed me that this is the "coolest" form of social media at the present time.)

So now what?  What could we possibly do to make year two just as big a success as year one?

I guess you will just have to wait and see :)

Thank you to all of our friends and family who have supported us.  Thank you to all of those who have turned into avid IODD readers.  Thank you to everyone around the world who has taken the time to peruse our words and pictures.  (We are a big hit in Russia for some reason :))

Hopefully you are enjoying our travels and will continue to do so as we enter year two of this great adventure we call life and blogging.
